Scholarship

Pianko Law is a full-service personal injury law firm in New York City and proudly supports future generations in their pursuit of personal success. Our firm is dedicated to helping those who are dealing with adversity as a result of others and therefore we want the focus of our scholarships to be on the topic of overcoming adversity. We will award 5, $500 scholarships to different high school students. We want to hear your story of overcoming hardship and achieving personal success as a result of it.
What is the essay topic?
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter many times are fundamental to our later success in life. Please, recount a time when you faced an obstacle in life. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

Please respond to the prompt in 500 words or less and submit your application through the Pianko.Law “Scholarships for Students” page.
Who is eligible to apply?
The Lessons We Take scholarship will be given to 5 deserving high school students who:
  1. Are enrolled in a high school
  2. Have an equivalent of a 3.0-grade point average (b- average)
  3. Submit an essay no more than 500 words on the presented topic through the required fields on our website
  4. Plan to use the funds of this scholarship for any academic pursuit that you desire
Outside of these criteria, there are no other specific qualities we are looking for in an applicant. Life obstacles and the lessons in which individuals take from them vary significantly from person to person. Adversity can come in many forms, and we want to hear the story of our unique community members, your story, and how you reached for success.
When is the deadline?
You must submit your application and essay by October 31, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Submission must be done through the required fields on our website. The only applications considered by the scholarship committee are the applications submitted in this form and by this date and time.
How will the winner be announced?
Pianko Law will notify the winners of the scholarship via the email provided in the candidate’s application. The scholarships will be awarded to the five winners based on merit and the written essay. Your essay will be reviewed for; writing quality, grammar, punctuation, and correctly addressing the above prompt.
Rules and Other Important Information
Any application submitted past the due date listed above will not be considered by the scholarship committee and Pianko Law Pianko Law reserves the right to announce the Lessons We Take scholarship winners and post the essays submitted, on our firm website, through our social media channels, and in any potential press release. The Lessons We Take scholarship is an equal opportunity scholarship.
